The first sea trials of Royal
Caribbean's much-awaited Oasis of the Seas were,
for the most part, a "terrific success," says
company Chairman Richard Fain.
In his latest online missive, the newly blogging executive writes the 220,000-ton, 5,400-passenger vessel, the largest cruise ship ever built -- "performed her various tests very well and everyone is very excited."
Under construction at a shipyard in Turku, Finland, Oasis sailed into the open sea for the first time last week to undergo the tests and is now back in its construction berth. - click for more images
