Costa purchase remaining shares of Iberocruise

The Spanish cruise line Iberocruceros is now 100% owned by Costa Cruises following the Italian company’s acquisition of Spanish tour operator Orizonia’s 25% stake in the line.

Commenting on the deal, Costa’s chairman and CEO Pier Luigi Foschi said: ‘Despite the fact that the current economic and financial crisis has hit Spain harder than other European countries we remain convinced that this market is highly significant for the cruise industry and we see strong growth prospects here.’

Iberocruceros operates three vessels; Grand Celebration, Grand Mistral and Grand Voyager.
