I have been in the travel industry since starting my own agency in St. Thomas USVA back in the early 1980's. Following the sale of my company we moved to France and set up another agency dealing with yacht charter client's and crew movements. It was here that Steve and I aligned ourselves with our eventual business partner, Jim Castle. The early 1990's where a difficult period in Europe with the European economies all stalled so Steve and I joined forces with Jim Castle who at that times had a business of yacht charter and management. Jim made the decision to move the company to the USA as nearly all of our business at that time was coming from the USA. It proved to be a a well timed move as the US economy was just starting into an upswing. In 1992, Jim made the decision to close the French office completely and to concentrate the companies effort on the US market. It was at this time Steve and I closed up our travel business and moved our family to the US. I have concentrated on program coordination as I am a detailed orientated person and this fits my persona well. |
